Be Transformed

Transformation faith requires a touch from Jesus. What keeps you from overcoming the personal issues that hold you back? Do you trust that through the touch of Jesus you can be transformed and healed?

Mark 5:22-24 states, then one of the synagogue rulers, named Jairus, came there. Seeing Jesus, he fell at his feet and pleaded earnestly with him, “My little daughter is dying. Please come and put your hands on her so that she will be healed and live.” So Jesus went with him.

Mark 5:25-29 states, a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had; yet instead of getting better she grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.

In Jairus, and the bleeding woman we see transformation faith. They believed that with just the touch of Jesus’ hand, miraculous healing and miracles would come. Do you believe it? In choosing to believe the healing touch of Jesus, we must respond by admitting that we cannot do it on our own, and express that need to Him.

Transformation Faith is Persistent

Transformation faith is persistent to secure God’s best. Pastor Miles recently bought a new car with a voice activated navigational system. As he drove it home, he had the navigational system guide him along the way. After taking him onto the freeway the navigational system instructed him to take the exit he usually doesn’t take home. So instead of following what it instructed he passed that exit toward the way he liked to go home. The navigational system reacted by recalculating the steps from that point on, and finding a new path to get home, rather than going back and starting over.

Your faith is going to test what you know. You cannot tell God what to do. He is going to guide your path, and when you mess up, He is going to pick you up and take you forward from there. Not send you back to fix what has been messed up. He forgets what is behind, and moves you toward the future.

Often times it is difficult to stay on the road of faith and victory. We can easily be distracted or discouraged by set backs if we do not have the right perspective. Jesus ignored the negative comments of disbelief and continued in His ministry. He defied the beliefs of those who disbelieved. It is vital that we envision experiencing daily victory over our issues, and avoid negative advice of those who disbelieve. Sometimes we even talk ourselves out of what we can achieve. We must remember the example of Jesus when we can be so easily discouraged.

Transformation Faith Sees the Light

We must start by being faithful to the little things, so we can grow to be faithful and dream the big things.

Transformation faith focuses on the light seen in the darkness. Do you dream the impossible? Does your faith see beyond life’s circumstances? Jesus saw beyond the dark circumstances and saw the light in the situation.

Mark 5:35-42 states, while Jesus was still speaking, some men came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue ruler. “Your daughter is dead,” they said. “Why bother the teacher any more?” Ignoring what they said, Jesus told the synagogue ruler, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.” He did not let anyone follow him except Peter, James and John the brother of James.

When they came to the home of the synagogue ruler, Jesus saw a commotion, with people crying and wailing loudly. He went in and said to them, “Why all this commotion and wailing? The child is not dead but asleep.” But they laughed at him.

After he put them all out, he took the child’s father and mother and the disciples who were with him, and went in where the child was. He took her by the hand and said to her, “Little girl, I say to you, get up. Immediately the girl stood up and walked around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished.

When you are able to see beyond the darkness, and when you can dream the impossible, big things can happen. We must start by being faithful to the little things, so we can grow to be faithful and dream the big things.

Transformation Faith Responds

We see in Mark 5, even the dead respond to the call of Jesus. When we have transformation faith we will always respond to the call of Jesus. When you are willing to admit your perfections you are perfectly qualified to serve Jesus. Can you see your love and service being requested by God Himself? This is the key question to ask yourself. If your answer is yes, follow through, respond to the call of Christ, and follow after Him today.

Is there a personal change you envision God wants to make in your life? What can you do to see that happen? Write it down today. God wants to do big things in your life. Start small, and you will soon be ready to move on and do bigger things. No matter how much junk you have in your life, Christ can heal and cleanse you. He wants to use you today, in transforming ways.
